As a resident who live at 65 St. Paul Street West I can not tell what a terrible idea it would be to close de La Commune Street or any other main street in Old Montreal. It is very difficult for the residents to find parking in the area during the tourist season.
If is also very confusing reading all the stupid parking sign that are posted for parking. There are usually 3 sign posted on a pole... crazy.
During the summer months it is difficult to find a parking spot because so many out of town people cannot read the parking sign a just park in the our spots that are reserve for resident with permits.
If anything de la Commune street should be reserve for the Resident Parking Only.
It would also be terrible for the local business, the people that have the money are the one that are driving here. There are buses and metro nearby for anyone else who would like to visit our great city.
