I've been a resident of Old Montreal on la rue du Port for 15 years. Even with a vignette 02, parking has always been a problem, often having to move my car twice a day because of street cleaning or snow removal (or movie sets). Now, because of the 515, I must park west of McGill (10 min. walk each way). My question is: why did the city sell us vignettes, and then remove 100 or more parking spaces when parking spots were already scarce? Where did they expect the residents (who pay some of cities highest taxes) to go?
Often I see the 515 go by with only a few people on board. The city decided to make things more complicated by disallowing east-bound traffic on de la Commune from St. Laurent to Berri St. This caused an almost permanent traffic jam on St. Laurent going North. Respectfully irrate.
